AddOn Review: Overkill

Hey Folks!

I'm at college right now, typing on one of those fancy Mac-thingies and tempted to steal the keyboard cuz it works so neatly... too bad my PC probably wouldn't like the Mac/Apple-Keys on it. Or at least be a bit confused about this funny symbols...

Aaaanyways! I am going a little crazy right now since I have to hand in my Project for this semester in about 2 hours and tomorrow will be the presentations. What if I forgot something? What if somethings wrong or worse the Teacher doesn't like it?
I hate when my head is throwing up so many thoughts that make me go all "Huuuurrrrr!" and run in circles. Luckily the printers were working today and I could print my documentations and 5 pictures of my project in a bigger size. Will cost me about 10 Euro but what the hell. Already spent a hellot of money on the last semester, those 10 euro wont kill me. Or will they?

So the hand-in is in about,... 1 hour and 45 minutes. So I am killing time, trying not to think about all the bad things that could happen. I think I will fill in the time by reviewing one of the Left 4 Dead Add-Ons I have listet on the right side of my journal, starting with one of my favourites: OVERKILL
Download: http://www.l4dmaps.com/details.php?file=7316

Overkill is a very unique Campaign and even if it has only 4 maps, all of them have their charm and make you go all "YEY" when you play them.

Lets start with map Nr. 1 where you start seperated from your teammates only with one by your side... So Nick usually ends up beeing stuck with Coach on the 4th or 5th floor of a building while Ellis and Rochelle are 2 storys below. You gotta find your way through the destroyed building and head downwards to the parking-garage. On the way there a nice flowing sentence tells you to pick up the coke. What for? Doesnt matter, it is fun to knock out the zombies with a few coke bottles. You follow the way through the dark garage to the first safe room... from there on it gets very interresting...

Map Nr. 2:
Right outside the Saferoom is a Ambulance where you are told to put in the coke. A very... and I mean VERY handsome voice of a male person sounds and tells you he can guide you to the stadium where rescue is waiting. Who wouldn't like to follow this purdy voice of a hopefully very sexy doctor?
So he starts the Car and gives you some neat weapons he seems to have found in the back and drives of, always waiting for you if you can't keep up.
He stops in front of a barrier which you have to go around and blow up and guides you to a tunnel. This tunnel is a lil tricky and thats what I really like (aside his sexy voice...): The tunnel is filled with poisonous gas which kills you if you stay in too long. I suggest you to go idle if you are lagging alot because you really need to run. Me and my friend had to wait till we got another player until we could continue because she kept dying cuz of her lags.
After the Tunnel you have to leave the handsome Ambulance-driver and head into a building. A tank might wait in there for you so keep your molotov ready. A Saferoom is not far away.
This map is one of my favourites cuz of the tunnel (and the doctor... <3).
Map Nr.3: You arrive at the stadium. A radiocall tells you to defend 3 points on each side of the stadium until the rescue arrives and is ready to go. Keep in mind to run fast and kill every infected you see. They might get in the way when you are running from the tanks in the 2nd round.
Last time I played the campaign me and my friend got overrun by FIVE tanks! I barely made it to the helicopter after killing one alone and running from the other 4 with about 10 HP left... geez my heart was making a skip when I reached the entrance feeling the tanks breath on my neck!

Map Nr.4: After the helicopter takes of, the pilot gets infected and you have to shoot it. The Helicopter crashes and you end up in another saferoom which after you get out and (hopefully) fully healed get to a walkie-talkie. It tells you that they are gonna flood the city with the poisonous gas that you had to encounter on the 2nd map. You don't have much time to wait so RUN RUN RUN!
This finale is one of the best I've played. Even if it's just dump running, smashing and shooting, you don't have time to hesistate. If a Hunter pounces you or a jockey steers you off, you are doomed. The gas sets you on fire and you are done!
At the end of a map you have to hide in a subway station while the military bombs the outside. You are free from the gas but you still have to cross a bridge to the helicopter that finally saves you...

So... if you wanna play this map, I tell you to keep in mind to choose real players instead of bots. Though sometimes bots are faster with saving you from special infected but real players can use meelee weapons which are pretty usefull in the finale. I love the way this map is designed and the story keeps a nice hint of the cruelity of humans who rather consider to kill even a few survivors within the city with the gas than rescuing them and choosing another way. Also... damn I can't get over this ambulance-driver! <3

I really can say it is worth to download and alot of fun to play. So ... yeah wow I killed 40minutes with typing this! I'm gonna grab some food and then meet my destiny...

Greetz!

I am a Scientist!

Hey folks!

May I introduce my newest OC for a zomby-apocalyptical happening?
His name is Dimitrii Romanov and he is a russian scientist who was working for the Military to (accidently) build the Virus that causes the attack (tho it wasnt his fault, he was just part of the team) and later trying to find a cure.
Beside beeing a Scientist he was given a military training so he could defend himself in case of something... like a Zombie apocalypse happens. DOH! He usually wears the usual scientist-fashion (f.e. Tie, shirt, fancy pants n such.) but on the run he put on his old military pants, boots and such. Yet he would never go out without his labcoat and his bag full of the most important science-stuff. Anyways~ Here ya go. I have to find time to draw a proper picture of him:
Ps.: He could be a co-worker of my OC Wicked Bailey Sinsheimer and my friends OCs Yuu Hira and Yiskan *lol*. (see my Deviantart: http://sayael.deviantart.com/gallery/26625250 )
